The gear that needs clearance, not size
A mouse’s footprint is tiny, but its swing arc is not. Low-sensitivity users sweep 30 cm or more across the pad. The mistake is planning for the device and forgetting the motion — then fighting the desk edge every day.
Clearance beats size
