What DeskForge is

Think of it as graph paper for your desk. Every piece of gear is drawn to scale on a grid where one cell equals 5 cm, so an ultrawide monitor visibly eats more desk than a 24-inch panel, and a mesh chair shows its real roll-back footprint. Your layout is saved to your own device and encoded in the page URL, so you can close the tab and come back to the exact same setup later. No account, no download, no data to hand over — the whole thing runs in your browser.

How to build a setup

Drag or tap a piece from the palette onto the blueprint — monitor, ultrawide, keyboard, mouse, chair, speakers, lamp, plant, shelf, desk mat, laptop, headphone stand, or mic boom arm. The desk mat is a flat covering, so it always draws underneath everything else: lay it down first and build the front row on top of it. Move a piece by dragging it; it snaps to the grid so edges line up cleanly. Select a piece to reveal its tools: use the minus and plus buttons to scale it in small steps, the rotate button (or the R key) to turn it 90 degrees, and the trash button (or the Delete key) to remove it. Pick one of four themes — Minimal White, Warm Wood, Dark RGB, or Cyberdeck — which restyles both the gear and the finished card. As you work, a live fit-check reads out how much desk width you are using versus what you have and warns you when things get crowded; it is advice, never a block. When the layout looks right, hit “Generate spec sheet” to plot the isometric card with dimension callouts and a numbered gear legend. Save it, share it over the Web Share menu or a copied link, or download the PNG.

Seven honest tips

1. Place the monitor first. It anchors the whole desk; build the keyboard-and-mouse zone in front of it, then fill the edges.
2. Watch depth, not just width. A chair and a deep monitor stand steal the front of a shallow desk — exactly where your keyboard wants to sit.
3. Treat the fit-check as a budget. If it flags crowding, try a single ultrawide instead of two panels before you spend anything.
4. Rotate the small stuff. Turning speakers or a lamp 90 degrees often frees a few centimetres you did not know you had.
5. Theme last. Arrange in Minimal White for clarity, then switch to Dark RGB or Cyberdeck only when you are ready to screenshot.
6. Save early. The link is your setup — bookmark it so a future upgrade is a quick refine, not a rebuild.
7. Draw the mat before the small stuff. A large mat is 90 by 40 centimetres, which is a real chunk of a 140 cm desk. Lay it first, put the keyboard and mouse on it, and the rest of the front row places itself — the fit-check will even tell you when the mouse has slid off the mat.
